Q & A

Can I get laser tattoo removal?

Laser tattoo removal can be performed on any person 18 years or older, or under 18 with parental consent. You CANNOT receive laser tattoo removal while pregnant or nursing, or if you have used Acutane in the last six months. Other conditions or medications may prevent treatment, please contact us for more info.

How many treatments will I need?

Most patients require 3 to 4 treatments to lighten a tattoo and 8 to 12 treatments to completely remove a tattoo. The number of treatments varies depending on a variety of factors. These factors include the tattoo’s age, tattoo colors, ink density, ink depth, tattoo location, patient health, pre-existing scarring, skin type, and more.

During your free consultation, our laser technician will assess your tattoo using these factors to determine the number of treatments your specific tattoo will need. That being said, every patient will require multiple treatments in order to treat the varying layers of ink that make up a tattoo.

How long until my tattoo is completely removed?

A healing period of six to eight weeks minimum is required between each laser treatment. That waiting period coupled with the number of treatments your unique tattoo is assigned is how long you must wait before achieving complete removal. The rate at which your tattoo fades relies heavily upon your immune system. Patients with healthier immune systems usually see faster results. To encourage faster ink clearance, we recommend drinking lots of water, exercising, and refraining from smoking. Although laser tattoo removal is a lengthy process, the results are well worth the wait.

How long is a laser session?

Luckily, laser tattoo removal sessions are very fast. Depending on the size of the tattoo being treated, a single session can last anywhere from 1 to 15 minutes, even less for extra small tattoos.

How much does laser tattoo removal cost?

No Regerts Laser Tattoo Removal offers free consultations to all patients. Our affordable per treatment pricing is determined based on the size of the tattoo being treated. We also offer special discounts and treatment packages to help save you more.

Does laser tattoo removal hurt?

Laser tattoo removal is often compared to a rubber band continuously snapping against the skin. Patients with a lower pain tolerance say the laser feels similar to getting a tattoo applied. To mitigate any pain and increase patient comfort, No Regerts Laser Tattoo Removal offers complimentary skin numbing using the Zimmer Cryo 6 cooling machine. This noninvasive device efficiently numbs the skin before, during, and after treatment, giving patients ultimate alleviation throughout the entirety of their visit.

Is laser tattoo removal safe? Are there any risks of scarring?

Laser tattoo removal at No Regerts is the safest method for removing unwanted tattoos. Other methods are invasive, painful, and almost always end up with scarring. No Regerts uses advanced, FDA-approved laser technology and customized safety protocols to noninvasively remove ink pigment from the skin without harming any surrounding skin tissue. As long as proper aftercare is applied to the skin, patients should experience great results without any risks of scarring.

The only side effects patients may experience are temporary swelling, itchiness, redness, blistering, scabbing, and skin discoloration. These side effects are natural reactions to treatment and heal with proper aftercare over the weeks following treatment.

Can you lighten my tattoo for a cover-up tattoo or remove only a specific part of my tattoo?

Yes! Laser tattoo removal is a great solution for those interested in getting a cover-up. No matter how talented your tattoo artist is, an existing tattoo can be very difficult to cover-up if it has a lot of dark, dense ink. Furthermore, the colors, size, and design elements of a cover-up can often be restrained if the existing tattoo is large and dark. Laser tattoo removal creates a cleaner canvas for tattoo artists to work on, giving them more flexibility with your cover-up design and a higher success rate with applying the perfect tattoo for you.

Laser tattoo removal can also selectively remove a part of your tattoo without erasing any of the surrounding elements. Selective tattoo removal is a great option for individuals interested in removing text, shading, or other details from a tattoo.
